Push-on cable markers are used particularly frequently for wire identification in switch cabinet construction. Due to the slide-on installation method, these cable markers are mainly suitable for cables and cores that have not yet been installed. Cable markers with clips are an exception here. These can simply be clipped onto cables and wires.

The push-on cable markers are available in different sizes and can therefore be used for a wide range of cable diameters. The markers are made of plastic (PVC cable markers or polyester marking material) and are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. In the following overview, we show you the various options for labeling cables and wires using push-on markers:

Push-on cable marker - wire labeling

Wire labeling to slide on

Our DRT wire markers have been developed for marking thin cable diameters and wires. Thanks to the two pre-punched holes, they can be quickly and easily pushed onto the cables. These plastic cable markers are made of polyester film and can be flexibly printed as required using the appropriate thermal transfer printer. In the standard range, the push-on wire marker is available in white. This marking color is most commonly used in wire marking. More product information and product details, as well as information on availability and delivery times, can be found on the product page.

Texit wire markers are ideal for marking individual wires. They are frequently used in the field of switch cabinet construction and are halogen-free. The marking material is a flexible PE film. ART wire markers are therefore also suitable for a wide range of cable diameters. This product is pushed onto the wires and cables and is not only available in white, but also in yellow in our standard range. Do you need a different marking color? Other colors are also available on request. More product information and product details can be found on the ART product page.

Clip-on cable labeling clips

The cable labeling clips play a special role in the push-on cable markers. This is because they can also be attached to cables and wires that have already been installed. The clips are supplied on a mounting rod and can be pushed on from there. This means they do not have to be pushed over cables and wires. They are particularly suitable for labeling cables, cores and conductors with small diameters. The marking material is polyoxymethylene (POM), which is halogen-free, UV and temperature-resistant. Our standard range includes the marking color white, but other colors are also available on request. This item is supplied pre-printed. You can find more information about our cable labeling clips on the product detail page.

What our expert Reinhold Sommer says

Reinhold Sommer

Push-on cable markers are not only suitable for wires and thin cables, but also for marking cables that have already been installed.

As the markers are pushed on or clipped on, they can still be attached after the cable has been fitted. This is something that my customers tend to forget with heat-shrink tubing.

Colored cable markers to slide on

In the electronics sector, labels for cables, conductors and wires often have to represent certain color codes. That's why the color is so important when it comes to push-on cable markings. As a manufacturer of cable markers, we can implement special color codes for our customers on request, even though most items in our standard range are available in white and yellow. Do you need special colors for push-on cable markers? Then simply get in touch with us and send us the relevant information. We will be happy to put together a customized product offer for you.

FAQ Push-on cable markers

For which cables are push-on cable markers suitable?

Push-on cable markers are characterized by the "push-on" mounting method and are often used in the small cable diameter range and for marking wires and conductors with small diameters (e.g. in control cabinets, as the use of cable ties is unnecessary). The markers are usually made of high-quality and robust plastic (e.g. polyoxymethylene, PVC or polyester) and the labeling is done using the thermal transfer printing process. This results in extremely robust cable markers and high resistance to environmental influences at the point of use (e.g. moisture, oil, chemicals, cleaning agents, salt water, etc.).

What are the disadvantages of push-on cable markers?

Push-on cable markers often have the disadvantage that the markers can only be applied to cables and cores that have not yet been installed. This is due to the installation method. In most cases, push-on cable markers have to be threaded onto the cables and this is generally not possible with cables that have already been installed. Cable clips are an exception here. These are clipped onto the cables for labeling and can therefore be attached without any problems even if the cables are already installed.

How long is the delivery time for the push-on cable marker?

The delivery time for the push-on cable marker depends on the specific product and the desired properties. Items from our standard range are usually in stock in our warehouse and can be delivered within 3-5 working days (within Germany). If you order items that have to be specially manufactured, we naturally do not have them in stock. These products are therefore not available for immediate delivery. You can find more information on the delivery time for custom-made products in your order confirmation.

In which industry are push-on cable markers frequently used?

Push-on cable markers make the use of cable ties superfluous and are therefore particularly suitable for labeling cables with small cable diameters, thin wires and conductors. This is why this marking is often used in the electrical engineering sector (e.g. in control cabinets).
