Components Cable marking system
Our cable marking systems for industrial labeling consist of 4 different components: The cable markers or labels, a thermal transfer printer, the matching thermal transfer ribbon and label design software. For a well-functioning system and a permanently legible print, it is important that the individual components are well coordinated.
As a manufacturer with our own production facilities, we can also guarantee a short delivery time for our articles (dispatch usually takes place directly after ordering (ready for dispatch) and therefore the standard delivery time in Germany is 3-5 working days). Below we show you which elements you need to select in sequence for your individual cable marking system.
Step 1: Select cable marking
The first step is to find the right markers for your cable marking system. The choice of markers depends on your labeling requirements and the type of installation. At Texit, we generally have (halogen-free) low-emission markers for wires and cables in our range. Depending on the standards and regulations in your industry, certain properties are required for the markers (e.g. halogen-free markers or UV-resistant markers). The size of the cable diameter and the available space for the markers also play an important role in the selection. Depending on the type and design, the markers are either attached to conductors and cables using cable ties or simply stuck on using adhesive (for cable labels or cable flags). Step 2: Select thermal transfer printer
Once you have found the right cable markers or conductor markers for your application, the next step is to choose the right printer. The choice of printer always depends on the type or design of the markers and the print volume at your site. In principle, all our Texit thermal transfer printers deliver very good printing results. For markers in continuous format, however, you need a printer type that can feed the material centrally. And then there are also differences in terms of performance. For smaller or occasional requirements, we recommend our inexpensive TEP5 entry-level printer. However, if you need to print large quantities of markers on a regular basis, you should invest in one of our high-performance industrial printers. Our marking experts are also available to advise you on this decision at any time.
Step 3: Select the right ribbon
The right ribbon plays the most important role in ensuring a long-lasting print. Depending on the material and properties of the markers, you will need different qualities of ink or thermal transfer ribbons. It does not matter whether the conductor marker or cable marker is halogen-free or how it is attached to the cable. It is often possible to print on several products with the same ribbon. In the product information on the product page, you will find a list of the Texit articles for which we recommend which ribbon to ensure the best possible print.
Step 4: Choose the right software
The final component for a fully functional cable marking system is, of course, the design software. With the Nice Label software, cable markers can be created quickly and easily. You can drag and drop texts, logos, symbols, QR codes and much more onto the text field and design it exactly as you wish.
