Cable labels are used for permanent cable identification. In addition to cable labels, the cable labels category also includes cable markers, special shrink sleeves for cable identification and cable labels. When selecting the right cable labels, both the location of the application and the type of application play an important role. For example, some products in the cable labels category have been specially developed for permanent outdoor use. Others can be easily printed with a conventional laser printer and others are made of metal for extreme loads.

You will also find helpful instructions under the product categories on how to find the right cable labels for your project. If you have any questions, you can contact our labeling experts at any time. Together we will find the best cable labeling for your requirements.
Cable Label Labels
The classic cable labels are probably the cable labels. These plastic labels are already provided with a permanent adhesive and a protective laminate and can be printed and used directly after receipt. Depending on the product, the labels can be printed using either a laser printer or thermal transfer printer. You can choose between polyester, vinyl, polyalkene or polyethylene for the materials. Thanks to the protective laminate, these cable labels are self-laminating and are highly resistant to liquids, oil and cleaning agents. The text field on the labels is limited by the cable diameter. Depending on the type of label, we supply the products either on a roll or on sheets (DIN A4 sheet format).
Cable label heat shrink tubing
Cable labels can also be created using special shrink sleeves. These so-called shrink sleeve markers are specially manufactured for printing and can be printed permanently and legibly using a thermal transfer label printer. This type of cable labeling is particularly durable and resistant. The shrink sleeve markers are applied using heat. Unlike cable labels, no additional consumables or adhesives are required for this. Please bear in mind, however, that the labeling field on the heat-shrinkable sleeves depends heavily on the cable diameter.
Cable Label Cable marker
Cable markers are also ideal as cable labels. For this type of cable marking, special plastic markers are printed using a thermal transfer printer so that they are permanently legible. The label is then attached to the corresponding cables and wires using cable ties. In contrast to cable labels, the labeling area is not as limited by the cable diameter. Depending on the design, the cable labels are also ideal for outdoor cable labeling as they are highly UV-resistant. You can choose between polyether polyurethane, polypropylene, PVC or polyester for the material.
Cable Labels - How to find the right cable labeling
Choosing the right cable labels for your specific requirements requires careful consideration of several factors. Cable markers and labels are available in a wide variety of designs. These steps will help you find the right cable labels for your labeling project:
1. define internal requirements
First clarify your requirements and objectives. What information must be on the labels? What environmental factors (temperatures, UV rays, chemical exposure, etc.) need to be taken into account? What type of cables need to be labeled (electrical cables, network cables, fiber optic cables, etc.)?
Also think about the desired size, dimensions and color of the labels. They should be large enough to accommodate all the necessary information in the title block, but not too bulky to affect the handling of the cables.
2. clarify external requirements such as standards and industry regulations
In addition to your internal requirements, most industries also have legal guidelines that must be followed in the area of labeling. Check whether there are industry-specific standards or regulations that apply to the labeling of cables. If you have any questions, you can contact our Texit labeling experts at any time.
3. budget and printer options
Ultimately, of course, your budget for the marking also plays a role. In addition to the frequency of use, this also affects the printer options. If you have a small budget, cable markers or cable labels that can be labeled with an existing laser printer or by hand are more suitable. This eliminates the investment costs for a thermal transfer printer, for example.
At the same time, however, the purchase of a thermal transfer printer is often worthwhile in the long term, especially if you regularly label large quantities of cable markers and cable labels or heat-shrink tubing. If in doubt, it is better to get a non-binding quote for too much. For all customers who only need cable labels occasionally or for individual projects, we also offer the option of ordering pre-printed cable markers as part of our printing service. We then take care of the printing for you in our printing workshop in Dieburg. For a small flat rate, you will receive individually printed label tags delivered to your door, ready for use.

Texit cable label
Cables are a crucial component in the world of cabling and networks. They play an essential role in organizing, identifying and managing cables in a variety of environments, whether in offices, data centers or manufacturing facilities. These small but important cable labels provide a wealth of information about the cables they mark, making it easier to install, maintain and troubleshoot networks and electrical systems. They therefore belong to the cable labeling or cable marking categories.
Wrap Around cable
A frequently used format for cable labels is the so-called "wrap around" label. These self-laminating labels are wrapped around the cable in one piece, keeping them securely in place and providing permanent identification. The wrap-around design ensures that the label stays firmly in place and does not slip, even under adverse conditions or when the cables move. This is particularly important in environments where reliable cable identification is critical (e.g. due to data mapping)
Advantages of the cable labels
Cable labeling offers a number of advantages. One of the most obvious is improved organization. By using cable labels, technicians and installers can quickly identify which cable is connected to which device or what purpose it serves. This saves time when troubleshooting and enables more efficient management of networks and electrical systems. This is also particularly quick thanks to the different colors of the cable labels (e.g. red, blue, yellow, black).
In addition, cable labels contribute to safety by helping to avoid confusion and reduce the possibility of misconnections. This is particularly important in environments where an incorrect connection can lead to serious damage, whether in industrial plants or in medical devices. When attaching the plastic cable labels, make sure that they are clearly visible on the relevant cables and wires. The adhesive of a label ensures a good hold.
Another important aspect of cable labels is the use of color coding. By assigning different colors (e.g. blue, red, yellow but also in different shades such as light green or dark green or dark blue or light blue, grey or black) for different types of cables or for different purposes, technicians can see at a glance which cable they need or what function it performs. For example, red labels could indicate important power cables, while blue labels are reserved for data cables. This color coding contributes to efficiency and reduces the risk of errors.
Kabellabel Texit advice & service
When selecting cable labels, it is important to choose high quality labels that meet the specific requirements of the environment. They must be durable to withstand the rigors of daily use, and they should provide clear and legible labeling that is easily visible under different lighting conditions.
As part of our consultation, we clarify the requirements with you (e.g. regarding materials, temperatures at the place of use or abrasion in contact with oil, water or other liquids) in a personal meeting. This service is of course free of charge for our business customers and completely non-binding. For the best possible marking results, our Texit service also includes professional and personal advice on parameters such as material, size, color and printer options.
We will then send you a customized quote for your cable labels, including shipping and delivery costs. On request, we can also offer you the complete package including label printer and software for printing the cable labels.
